October at Fireside: Markets, New Classes & Holiday Dates
Hi friends,
Fall is my favorite season in the studio — the light changes, the markets are still going strong, and it's the perfect time to get your hands in some clay before the holidays. Here's what's happening at Fireside Pottery this month and beyond.
Find Me at the Clintonville Farmers Market
I'm at the Clintonville Farmers Market every Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon, at 3535 N. High Street in Columbus. The season runs through November 21, so there are still plenty of Saturdays to stop by, say hello, and shop handmade pottery in person. It's also the best place to see new work fresh out of the kiln.
A New Columbus Class Starts October 29
Our fall Thursday evening session in Columbus runs October 29 through December 10 (6–8 p.m., with a break for Thanksgiving). If you've been thinking about trying the wheel, this is a great session to jump into — reserve your spot with a deposit on the website.
Winter Classes Are Filling Up
Registration is also open for our January–February sessions, and seats are going:
Springfield (Hatch Artist Studios) — Mondays and Tuesdays, 5:30–7:30 p.m., Jan 11 – Feb 16
Columbus (35 E. 5th Ave) — Wednesdays and Thursdays, 6–8 p.m., Jan 13 – Feb 18
Classes are six weeks and kept small — just 5 students in Springfield and 9 in Columbus — so everyone gets plenty of wheel time and guidance. Monday evenings in Springfield are nearly full already, so if that slot fits your schedule, don't wait. A $100 deposit holds your seat.
Book a Clay Date
Looking for a fun night out — or a group get-together with a twist? Clay Dates are $60 per person, and I'll trim, fire, and glaze everything you make and let you know when it's ready for pickup. Perfect for date nights, birthdays, and bachelorette weekends. Message me through the website to book your date.
Join the Pottery Club
Want regular studio time without committing to a class session? The Fireside Pottery Club is $90 a month, with club night every Tuesday from 6:15–8:15 p.m. in Columbus. Come throw, trim, and glaze alongside fellow makers.
Save the Dates — Holiday Season
First Friday at the Hatch (Springfield) — Friday, November 6, 5–9 p.m.
Small Business Saturday at the Hatch — Saturday, November 28, noon–4 p.m.
Clintonville Holiday Market — Saturday, December 5, 9 a.m.–1 p.m., 48 E. North Broadway, Columbus
Holiday at the Hatch — more December openings December 4, 5, 12, and 19 in Springfield
Handmade pottery makes a pretty great holiday gift — just saying.
Thanks, as always, for supporting a small studio and shopping handmade. Hope to see you at a market, a class, or around the studio soon.
— Casey
